The track work will start on Monday 27th April (next Monday) and the track will be officially closed for 3 weeks minimum.

We will be having an opening race once its finished, probably on the Euros weekend in July.

Yes the whole track is being rebuilt. All new jumps, berms reshaped, moved and widened, straights widened and about 50m added to the length. Same start hill and U in a U layout. Hopefully were getting a new gate and start pad as well. No tarmac in this phase as we dont have the cash. If all goes well, we'll get some tarmaccing done in phase 2 later in the year :D

This is our proposed track design. The measurements are approximate and are likely to change as the build evolves.
The direction of travel is from left to right on all straights.

No mate, through reasons beyond my control I couldnt get the 2 parties together. Personally I was well gutted as I knew they would have turned up, done the job for 6 weeks and we would have got our prize, but it wasnt to be. EJ Taylors groundworks company are doing the job. Im overseeing it in terms of shapes and distances etc. Weve got a full spec off of them and theyre using all the right materials. Its bloody stressful as Im meeting them on site for an hour or so in the morning, going to work, going back to the track at lunch time, then back to work, then back to check everything at night. Week 3 is gonna be the big stress as its when most of the shaping is being done, but I should be ok to get a week off :D
Heres a couple more pics of today.

Had a bit more progress yesterday :D The 1st turn started taking shape, the 2nd straight got flattened and the bases for the new jumps went down. Started cutting out the jumps on the 1st straight and got a few little test runs in 8)

Tis a tricky one.
When you cut it out from the bottom to make it steeper, you often end up with more flat bottom of berm than you had before.
No one wants to use the steep bit for fear of being taken on the inside. A couple or 3 years back that was the senario.
It was foot out and block the outside guy all day long.
Go you steady.
I would have been adding dirt me old china.
Get her right before the type 1 yowth.
Gradual slope all the way round so's we can pedal like ken.
If you think i'm wrong thats cool 2.
You are playin a blinder.
Props.

berms like that are hard to get right 4 sure. in an ideal world u want to make the riders use the that berm and give a couple of lines in and out.

also what happens is like hayes 1st berm, u build this massive berm that no one uses and all cut round the inside touching only a small bit of the exit, so lesson learned there.like ady says..

bring the inside of that berm high so riders can rail it and keep their speed up for next straight...
