Cumbernauld BMX Track

Works starts tomorrow on upgrading the Cumbernauld BMX track, This was a national Standard track built in 1990, it has held up well but has had no maintenance in 20 years, as well as resurfacing there will be some new jumps and a rhythm section on the last straight. This will be the second track in Scotland to be active and the new club will be launching this week also.

Great news mark,the track is located in such a great place and great sorroundings,glad to hear it's getting a makeover,any chance you can run a tram service from the finish line to the start hill too

Still trying to get some Pictures but here is some info on the work so far

First Jump re-done to 7m Doubles
Second jump not changed
Quads enlarged
Speed jums after turn 1 and 2 made in to doubles
Tripples enlarged
Bombhole removed and replaced with Stepup doubles then step down

Rhythm section being added on the last sweeping turn

Last high doubles no changed

Looking good so far but a lot of work to be done, will post some pictures soon

the resurface work is to be started this weekend Brett but we will be checking the jump profiles to so get a shovel for both hands

Yeah top job guys,just out of curiosity whats/any ideas on the length of the track....seemed quite long when I was up there,actually really liked it there....so so much potential!!!

it is just over 400 yards Stu, It is really looking the part now, once we get the gate sorted we will be good to go. only thing still to do is the transitions on the first jump. I hope this is just the start and we can keep making changes to make the track as challenging as possible
