Postby forestbmx » Fri Feb 05, 2010 5:07 pm

I was just wondering how the track was comming along? And will it be ready for the WR? If anyone from down that way could let us know it'd be appretiated. Cheers.

There's not been anything to say it's been cancelled, Decoy yes, but not Bideford.

From the minutes of a meeting held after the Duchy round:

"Winter regionals:- Burnham race was cancelled because of the snow, Decoy cancelled because of lease issues and it has now been confirmed that Bideford has been cancelled. To confirm points criteria for winter racing ALL points that you have gained during the winter race series will count i.e you race 3 races and come out top you get top place. Trophies for top 3, to be awarded at Tiverton regional."

Not sure where else this has been broadcast but has been distributed to all Clubs. I know no more than this. Humps

I stand corrected Bazza, I didn't stay past 12 at Duchy so I wasn't aware of the outcome of the meeting. Shame about all the cancelations, is Bath still on or has that gone as well?

After riding Bath recently unless it's very much drier at the time it'll be crap. It was very sticky and as soon as you stopped pedaling you stopped. Real shame as it's one of my favourite tracks.
If someone from Bath is arranging a work party before the race put it up on here and I'll try and get down to help. Personally I recon it needs what Bristol got a while ago - a good stoney sub base under the surface. Lots of work though.

I don't think drainage is the issue at decoy, it's the ground freezing seems to draw the moisture into it and then we have not had many nice days to dry it out. Decoy is still not rideable since before Xmas.

sorry havent had much time to get on here and keep you all informed.. the track is progressing well considering the weather and yes unfortunatley we have just had to cancel the winter regional which we are very sorry about. the track at present is rideable but the surrounding area and access is a bit of a mud bath.

the track itself should be flattened in about 10 days ( still bringing in the earth for the extentions 10,000 ton in total) then we can get on with the serious business of jump building... got loads of ideas in mind but you will have to wait n see !!!! what ever we do we all know that justin still wont jump it
and hes given up smoking

thanx rob
