wolfybmx wrote:i would say this is a case of a fast and smooth rider racing with a fast rider who has less experience of passing in corners. the rider is coming into the corner with good speed but a bit out of control with regards to positioning them selves to take the corner smoothly i.e taking the corner as a curve not at right angles if you know what i mean.

also conditions in the finals were i bit wet so braking with control may have been an issue here as well.

Phil i seem to remember you hitting me about 300 times harder than that in the same corner once!!! (and you didnt hear me complaining did you) :D

Then i seem to remember DBou tagging you pretty good there once, its just racing.

This is good debating, riders aside what about the track? inside corner like the M25 four lanes, what if an inside line was drawn would this have changed the ride?

Looking at his body positioning and the direction of travel I doubt very much he'd have even made it around the berm without almost coming to a stop.

Luckily for him he had a nice buffer to stop him going over the top. ;o)

I've had the same thing done in the very same place, as many others have too.

Personally I think it was OTT, but hey - at the end of the day that's racing!

Didn't Keith get pushed off wide on the berm before and had to ride along the grass.
Great racing :D leave the door open and then, so be it.
You don't expect riders to wave you on by.

Just a terrible line into the corner for blue and white rider. The other chap had every right to ride those lines and make sure he used all the track the lead rider let him have. Twice is silly though, just ride wider into that step up for a better angle. He probably lined you up way before the execution!

Having said that....I got totally done at a national semi near Middlesbrough and nothing done but the ref who bottled it. Or was that because the rider's dad was mates with him??? Even had the tyre smudge marks from chainring to headset. Total waste of time and money. Did ref do anything yesterday?? What was his view on it? Donwe have ablack flag!!?? Lol

If you look at both races though Keith comes off better in the first and worst in the 2nd as he crashed straight after,I'm still surprised Mario took the same line twice tbh,but like everyone else says...'that's racing' win some lose some!

Was always going to happen in the last bend following a very aggressive move the turn before. Both bit out of order moves in the last race but once its done to you you do it back.Thats racing and red mist.

I gave Keith a whistle and a good cheer when he came across the finish line- I thought it was great racing, a great come back from being pushed off the track by Mario on the berm before.

Well well well...

I have to admit, mea culpa!!!!! having made the same mistake twice during the same racing day isn't really ideal and "race clever"..and normally I am much more berm aware. Watching the full video over and over again I understood my mistake..a silly mistake..!!!

1st race of the season..feeling a bit rusty or whatever other reasons..I had fun..and clearly this season will be much more interesting..let's wait and see :-)

This is excellent footage.
Both fair moves in my eyes, demonstrating the dangers of leaving the door open.
BMX is a race not a time trial so the 'Fast' line is not always as good as effective as braking and goofd track position.
Sound a bit old now but I think all new schoolriders should learn from this.

Easy Kev, good points raised m8 but have to agree with Humps, dialled Mike, Simon DBS & Mario

Personally I believe both the 1st & 2nd videos of races are legal; As there was no deliberate interference or deliberate forcing off the track and as seen by the 2nd Vid, the rain was terrible giving riders less control.
Mario, both times in such a close race, opted to leave the door much too wide open which he even admits was a silly mistake. Riders always run the risk of being shut out if opting for the easier but equally much longer distance route around outside of the berm. Also, correct me if I'm wrong but I thought "T boning" was - not forcing a rider to take the hi line but rather totally blocking his line by cutting directly across him at 90º forcing rider over bars or completely off bike or berm? Leaning into riders, holding your line and even elbows around berms together are all part of mixing it up once in race mode and I certainly would not be bothered if any of them happened to me during a race. It's no different from a defender holding a player off the ball.... I would be annoyed however, not because I may have just lost a place but because really in actual fact ... Should've known better

Keep up the top video wk too m8 - it's great to go over them again & again watching our silly mistakes that hopefully will be rectified by time the next race meet comes
